The 13th Annual Sandia Mountain Snowshoe Race, presented by the Friends of the Sandia Mountains, was run on January 17, 2015. The Race is a 5-km/3.2 mile tour through beautiful trails in the Cibola National Forest. Click the links above to see photos from the race and race results.

13th Annual Sandia Mountain Snowshoe Race
The 13th Annual Sandia Mountain Snowshoe Race, presented by the Friends of the Sandia Mountains, is scheduled for January 17, 2015. The Race begins at 10:00 am at the lower level parking lot at Sandia Crest and is a 5-km/3.2 mile tour through beautiful trails in the Cibola National Forest. Registration begins at REI (1550 Mercantile Ave. NE, ABQ) or by mail on December 1, 2014. Registration forms will be also available at this web site (www.sandiasnowshoe.com) beginning December 1. All proceeds go to the Friends of the Sandia Mountains for preservation and maintenance of trails and other US Forest Service resources.
The registration fee includes pre-and post-race refreshments and prizes in several categories. The race is limited to 150 participants, and racers of all levels are invited to participate. The registration limit is usually met early, so please don’t delay and miss out on the fun. LATE REGISTRATION STARTS JANUARY 4, 2015 AND ENDS WHEN THE LIMIT OF 15O RACERS IS MET. THERE WILL BE NO ON-SITE REGISTRATION.
Note: We suggest that you try to carpool to the Crest on race day, if possible. Availability of parking may be limited.
