12th Annual Sandia Mountain Snowshoe Race
The 12th Annual Sandia Mountain Snowshoe Race, presented by Friends of the Sandia Mountains, is scheduled for January 18, 2014. The Race begins at 10:00 am at the lower level parking lot at Sandia Crest and is a 5-km trek through beautiful trails in the Cibola National Forest. Registration begins at the REI store or by mail on December 1, 2013. Registration forms are now available online at www.sandiasnowshoe.com. All proceeds go to the Friends of the Sandia Mountains for preservation and maintenance of trails and other US Forest Service resources.
The fee includes a long-sleeved T-shirt, pre-and post-race refreshments, and prizes in several categories. The race is limited to 150 participants, and racers of all levels are invited to participate. The limit is usually met early, so please don’t delay and miss out on the fun. LATE REGISTRATION STARTS JANUARY 5, 2014 AND ENDS WHEN THE LIMIT OF 15O RACERS IS MET. NO ON SITE REGISTRATION.
Note: We suggest that you try to carpool to the Crest on race day, if possible. Availability of parking may be limited.

The overall winner of the 2013 Snowshoe Race was David Harrington, with a posted time of 32:31:10.
